Las Vegas, United States

Bellagio

A lake of dancing fountains out front and a ceiling of glass flowers inside. Bellagio is the Strip at its most composed, with a gaming floor to match.

Las Vegas, United States

Caesars Palace

Marble statues, Roman columns and a casino floor that hums from noon until dawn. Caesars treats every night as opening night.

Las Vegas, United States

Wynn Las Vegas

A curved bronze tower, flower-lined corridors and a golf course behind the casino. Wynn is the Strip for guests who prefer the volume low.

Cotai, Macau

The Venetian Macao

Painted skies, indoor canals and a casino so big the hours slip by. The Venetian shows Cotai at its most ambitious.

Our method

The house rules we review by

A casino hotel has two jobs. It has to be a great place to sleep, and a great place to spend an evening. We judge it on both, and we always begin upstairs.

  • The room comes firstSpace, quiet, views and service count for more than the number of slot machines on the ground floor.
  • Then the gaming floorWe look at the spread of games, the limits, the poker room and how easy it is to find a calm table.
  • Everything around itSpas, pools, restaurants and shows, plus what is within walking distance when you want fresh air.
