On the Place du Casino since 1864, facing Europe's most famous gaming house. Marble, gilt and a Michelin-starred dining room await.

Inside the house

The Hôtel de Paris opened in 1864 so that visitors to the new Monte-Carlo casino would have somewhere grand enough to sleep. Royalty, film stars and racing drivers have checked in ever since, and it still feels like the heart of the principality.

A renovation finished in 2019 brought the rooms up to date while keeping the Belle Époque details, and added rooftop suites with private terraces. Even entry-level rooms come with marble bathrooms and views of the square or the port.

The Casino de Monte-Carlo is a short walk across the square. Expect an evening dress code, an ID check and an entry charge for the main gaming rooms. Monaco nationals may not gamble there, so the players are almost all visitors.

Reserve a table at Le Louis XV, the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant, and spend an unhurried morning at the connected sea-water spa before the gaming rooms open.
